As well as running with the group there will be times when you might want to run alone. If so, it is worth considering the following:

  • Let someone know your route and how long you may be
  • Run with a mobile phone
  • There are facilities on some running watches and apps (e.g. Garmin, Strava) to set up emergency contacts. However, these WON’T inform emergency services.
  • Garmin Connect - search for your specific watch for information on setting up Safety & Tracking.
  • Strava Beacon - There is an option where you can share (upto 3 contacts) your location from your mobile device
  • If you like to listen to music, think about whether you can hear traffic and consider using earphones designed for running such as Shokz.
